WebOne way for students to show proficiency is through Read to Achieve. Read to Achieve is a set of 11 common core reading standards. Students will be tested on all 11 standards throughout the school year. For each standard, students must show proficiency on 3 passages (70% or higher). Webrequire a 50/50 balance of literary and informational passages by grade, largely based on the 2009 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Reading Framework. As such, the passages on the ACT should reflect a more balanced distribution of both literature (stories, drama, and poetry) and informational text, including literary nonfiction.
